Wood Dog
i want to build my puppy a dog house from scrap wood, any tips?
my grandpa is rebuilding is 25 year old fence and the wood is a neat red so i wanted to use that to build my pup a dog house.
i’ve never done this before, so any tips are appreciated!
One tip – are you sure the paint is not peeling and is not lead paint? That could be toxic to your pup. Wood that is old and splintery could end up with splinters in your dog’s mouth too – they tend to chew. Also be sure to remove all the old nails carefully.
There are plans you can buy for dog houses online and at home improvement stores that can help you. Give the dog house a raised floor and be sure to put some soft material down to make it comfortable for your dog. You’ll need a waterproof roofing material too.
It’s good to resuse materials, just make sure they are safe.
