Sleepy Puppy Normal
Weather affecting puppy?
I took my pup for a long walk yesterday and it was close to 90 degrees. I made sure I kept her well-hydrated and fed, but ever since then she’s been acting VERY sleepy! She slept all afternoon yesterday and is sleeping again now. It’s really warm out again today, but she hasn’t been out for more than half an hour. Is this normal puppy behavior or should I get her to the vet?
It is normal. Long walk in hot weather…I would be sleepy too!
I would give her a day or two to bounce back to normal, and keep the walks shorter on the hot days. Puppies take longer to recover after a tiring ordeal than adults.
