I just purchased two hi-fin black skirt tetra fish…how much/times a day should i feed them?
i’ve never had fishes as pets, so if you also have helpful hints to keeping them alive, that would be awesome too
What kind of tank do you have them in?
Black Skirt Tetras are tropical fish, they need a fully cycled (the nitrogen cycle : http://www.theaquariumwiki.com/The_Nitrogen_Cycle ), heated and filtered tanks. They also do not do so well in pairs, they need to be kept in shoals of 6 or more. A 15-20 US gallon tank is best for them.
As for feeding, a small pinch of flake of pellet food once or twice a day should do. If you’re finding a lot of waste food on the bottom of the tank, you’re feeding too much!
