Is there a garden item I can buy or make to cover my patio plants from too much rain?
Many people besides me are losing potted plants because of all the rain we are getting. Can’t bring them inside & have no patio overhang for them. How can I keep them dry when it rains so much?
well it all depends on how big of pots they are in, but here are some ideas,
if the pots are sitting in those dish things to hold the water in remove them
make sure there are drainage holes in the bottom of the pot
how about covering the top of the pot with a plastic plate/ top from a butter type dish or somthing (works on a planter with a plant that has one center root) large enough to cover the top of the planter, cut a hole in the plate large enough to go around the stem of the plant with out being tight, then cut a stright line to one side, slide around the plant so the stem goes into the hole.
or if nothing else works when you know there is a storm coming cover them with a garbage bag (clear is best) poke some holes into the sides of the bag for ventalation (on the side not the top)
