Greyhound Bus Schedule – Leading 2009 Facts

Have you ever noticed that some of these rules appear to be foolish?

For example, Greyhound bus lines had a rule that no pets had been allowed on their buses. One late night at a rural truck cease in Florida, a Greyhound bus driver kicked an 87 year old lady off his bus. Her crime was that she was returning from her birthday party with her present: a tiny puppy named Cookie. The driver refused to make an exception, and so this poor elderly lady was left about 80 miles from her house at three in the morning. Can’t you hear the driver justifying his actions? “We have a rule. We have a rule”.

Maybe you do not really feel like driving a handful of hundred miles. Maybe you can not afford the increasingly pricey plane ticket that doesn’t even come with a meal these days. In that case, taking the Greyhound bus may perhaps be for you.

“I’ve never observed so many people today so nice with me, an old lady,” she said. Love has a entire lot of names, “she continued, “compassion, respect, friendliness”. Greyhound apologized and gave her a refund.

The synagogue leader in today’s Gospel reading was also obsessed with obeying rules; specifically, the rule about keeping the Sabbath holy. The Jews, particularly the Pharisees, had been so obsessed with keeping God’s Commandments that they came up with all sorts of rules that governed what they could and could not do on the Sabbath. Included within the list of items that could not be done on the Sabbath was healing a sick person. Healing was regarded as work, and a great Jew could not do that variety of work.

1. Give yourself at the very least a handful of hours, preferably a day of leeway just before you make time-sensitive commitments or appointments.

2. So having fewer items suggests that you will discover fewer items to obtain lost. Consider shipping items ahead to your final destination, as an alternative to bringing them with you.

The Law did let animals to be untied for a couple of hours on the Sabbath, but the synagogue leader objected to Jesus’ freeing of the bent woman from her bondage on the Sabbath. By healing the lady on the Sabbath, Jesus’ actions are deemed to be inside the intention or spirit of the Sabbath, and they improve Sabbath observance as opposed to destroying it.

3. Bring wholesome snacks and bottled water. Greyhound stations occasionally supply cafeterias, but often only vending machines. They are normally situated in unsavory components of town, not handy to restaurants, and leaving the station and potentially missing your bus could be a hassle. Either way, in the event you come prepared, you is going to be able to save funds compared to the station prices, and control the ingredients in the event you have particular dietary needs, or are just attempting to eat healthy.

4. Bring some type of entertainment. Most Greyhound buses and stations usually do not give Wi-Fi (their web site does speak about future plans in that direction, however, so be certain to visit it before your trip for the most current information), but you will find plenty of ways to maintain yourself entertained. Hand-held video games, MP3 players, even a good old-fashioned book or magazine will aid stave off boredom. Books of crossword puzzles is usually enjoyable for older people, even though coloring books can maintain the younger crowd occupied.

They can take us away from our families. They can even cause severe depression. For example, in 1971, in Plano, Texas, a lady by the name of Linda gave birth to a boy she named Lance. She did what a lot of mothers do with boys. She molded his character and temperament by involving him in a number of sports. He soon showed an aptitude as an athlete and by the age of 13 his expertise had been confirmed when he won the Iron Kids triathlon-a mixture of swimming, biking and running. Three years later at the tender age of 16 he became a professional triathlon athlete. When most kids were attempting to compete at their local high schools, and entering amateur competitions, Linda’s boy was generating revenue as an athlete.

He worked challenging and at times his training would take him to the edge of the state to the Oklahoma border exactly where he would call his mom and ask her to come and get him. In a single of the three expertise of the triathlon-biking-he was excelling beyond the skills of men twice his age and experience. At the age of 18 he qualified to train with the U.S. Olympic team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His behaviour almost cost him his high school diploma but private classes were arranged which enabled him to graduate.

In 1996, he was forced by discomfort to quit a race. Tests revealed advanced testicular cancer which had spread to his lungs and brain. The once athletic and vibrant young man underwent 3 operations plus the most aggressive form of chemotherapy. Now his career was the least of his worries. He mentioned that the ailment fully changed his life and his priorities. But there is far more to the story. That young man won his battle with testicular cancer and rekindled his passion for biking. In case you haven’t figured it out, I’ve just told you the story of Lance Armstrong, seven time winner of the Tour de France biking race.

One of the key points of the Gospel reading is the situation of keeping the Sabbath holy. What does it mean to preserve the Sabbath holy? Does it mean keeping the total day absolutely free from undertaking anything but worshiping God, as the synagogue leader would argue, or does it mean setting aside one hour for worshiping God and then spending the rest of the day carrying out what we please, as our contemporary society could possibly argue? The synagogue leader was like the Pharisees in that he was so caught up in obeying the letter of the Law of Moses and also the Jewish guidelines that he could not see the spirit of God’s Law-namely, caring for others. When we care much more for following rules that than we do for the welfare of people, in particular those that are produced in God’s image, we miss the entire point of repentance. Romans 13:10 explains, “Love is the fulfillment of the law”.

5. When you get to the station, line up in front of one’s door as soon as possible.

Puppy As A Gift: Tips When Giving A New Puppy As A Present

Birthdays, holidays, and other celebrations where gifts are exchanged are a time of fun, good food, and merriment and giving the gift that keeps on giving, a new puppy should be accompanied with proper education to the new owner as well.

Watch Those Children!

Most puppies are given as gifts to children. The biggest tip here is to keep in mind that new puppies are not toys! Even though it may seem cruel to take it from the kids ñ when everyone, including the puppy, is having such a good time ñ it should have frequent rest periods. This can be the beginning of the learning process of necessary care by the children for their new friend.

A new bike and a new puppy go well together; however, they can lead to an automobile accident involving child and puppy alike if the animal is allowed to chase after the bike on a busy street.

The same is true, of course, for roller blades, skateboards, sleds, and ball playing. The street is not a good playground for a puppy ñ or an older dog for that matter; and unless you live in the country, it’s not too good for the children either.

Before you bring a new puppy home you should acquire those items which will be necessary for its well-being and comfort. Proper food is the most essential item. Perhaps a good hard rubber ball, not too big but also not small enough to be swallowed; chew sticks and puppy treats would also be a good idea.

Of course it will need a bed and its own food and water dishes, but these can come from the household supply before the arrival of the new pet. A collar (or harness) and leash will help the puppy get off to a good start.

Gifting Outside Of Your Home

A puppy is not a good gift for anyone outside your own home unless you are absolutely sure the recipient wants one, and you know their choice of breed and sex. In any case, a surprise gift can often become a burden rather than a joy if the friend really did not want it. A puppy can’t be put in the attic and forgotten. Hopefully, though it’s going to be around for a long time.

A good book on care and training plus a short lecture on the responsibilities of pet ownership can be given to the new owner with the puppy, or shortly after the glow of first sight has worn off.
