Age puppy can be fully potty trained?

I have a 12 week old Australian Shepherd and for the past couple of weeks we have been working strictly on potty training..now she goes over and taps her leash with her nose when she has to go out for a poo poo, but not always for a pee pee..can she not feel her bladder? Is she old enough to understand what she is doing?
She does tap it sometimes when she has to pee pee, but half of the time she just goes willy nilly inside
She actually doesn’t have a problem of holding it when I’m not home. She has never wet the floor when I’m away, she will just stop in the middle of playing and wet the floor..like I said about half of the time she will tap her leash and let me know, but I was wondering if she can’t always feel her bladder to tell when it’s full

Congrats on your aussie! i have one too and she is very smart! your pup is still young and yes she can feel when she has to go pee but she most likely cannot control it yet. My puppy is about 18 weeks old and she is still having a few accidents. give her time she will learn. I would suggest taking the puppy out ever 30 mins and if you have a bell on the door make her ring it with her nose just before you go out. (ours learned this on her own!) when you get outside say only “potty” until she goes pee. then praise. she will pick up on it fast! and as she gets older she will start to hold it. you can also try craiting her just before u are going to go out. puppys will not pee in there bed. hope that helps! if you would like to talk more about your aussie let me know! i love to talk about mine and would love to share info. feel free to email me.
