The Bichon Frise dogs have a certain love for life. But dogs, regardless of their character, can still be victims of neglect. That’s why there are Bichon Frise rescue groups, to take in those dogs. Dogs are given up for adoption or simply abandoned for many reasons, from relocating far away for a new job, to a breakdown in the family. If you’re planning to bring a Bichon Frise into hour life, you are encouraged to consider adopting one from a Bichon rescue instead of buying one from a dog breeder.

Bringing home a rescued dog has its benefits. Here are some of them.

You could go for a puppy, but will you be able to house train him?

Many pet lovers are wooed by what little time they’ve spent with a Bichon Frise. You may have seen one in a dog show, or watched someone’s Bichon in a park, a restaurant, or some other place. You will also have been spared a phase in the dog’s life when it really loves to chew on just about anything.

You are reaching out and helping both the rescue group and the dog you are adopting. You are actually helping the rescue continue its mission to help more dogs, and you provide a good home for the dog you took into your life. By adopting one, you make room in the rescue’s carefully allotted space and temporary homes to take in other orphaned dogs. There’s usually a small donation asked for each successful adoption. A rescue group needs to finance its operations and purchase needed medical supplies for the dogs, and your donation will be used for those needs.

If you find a legitimate breeder and are offered a good price, no one is saying you shouldn’t take that opportunity to get a Bichon Frise. You are encouraged to consider your circumstances – whether you have the time, devotion, and finances to take care of a Bichon Frise puppy. Thousands of dogs end up being abandoned and given up for adoption when their owners leave them or give them up for adoption – if you can provide your dog with the care it needs it shouldn’t end up getting orphaned.
