Puppy Growth Chart Border Collie

How accurately can newborn weight only predict full adult weight?

The puppy I’m adopting was born yesterday (due date was tuesday so she WAS early) and my puppy and one of her brothers only weighed 4 oz. The other brother weighed 5. The parents are 6.5 and 7. Now I was hoping she’d be a lot bigger like 10 lbs grown but at least 5-6. The growth charts for chihuahuas and pomeranians both are the same and say she’ll be 4 lbs. I was hoping I could affect it with diet after I brought her home or something. I just feel more comfortable dealing with slightly sturdier dogs, but we are definitely getting her. It’s a long story but that’s our dog no matter what. My last dog was a 55 lb border collie but we went smaller this time so she could travel.
I was planning to leave her till 12 but might have to take her at 8 due to stuff going on with the owner. I planned to feed her Wellness (no Innova as they were sold to P&G) and switch her to raw when her immunities were developed.

In my breed at least newborn weight often has NOTHING to do with adult size. HOWEVER the chances of getting a 10 lb dog from 6 &7lb parents are slim. good diet can only allow them to reach full genetic potential for size (or not) not actually determine the size ….
