Puppy Training 101: Basic Equipment Needed To Train Your Puppy
Are you ready for Puppy Training 101? To get started, you should have three particular pieces of equipment to be able to competently teach your puppy: a training dog collar, a leather training leash, and also a 15-foot length clothesline rope.

The Right Collar
The collar should be large enough to slide over the puppy’s head comfortably, but not so large as to fall over the ears if the puppy should lower his head. A good rule of thumb to follow is to place the collar on the puppy and cinch it up tight for a moment and observe whether you have three inches of chain left over. If so, you have a fairly good fit. It is better to have a training collar that’s slightly too large than one slightly too small.
Final Puppy Training Necessities That You Cannot Find In A Store
The remaining equipment that you’ll need cannot be purchased at any store, but without them, you cannot successfully train your puppy.
You must love and care for your puppy! You must have patience and exercise patience while your puppy is learning. A shallow endurance compounded along with a short temper will probably ensure complete and utter failure.
To lose your cool and blow up means the end of training, so here’s a little tip that might help you keep your cool:
It takes 4 to 5 days for an average puppy to learn the average thing. Do not expect your puppy to perform like a professional the first few days of teaching him something new. It just doesn’t happen that way. Should you lose control of yourself, you have lost control of the particular situation. When this happens, your puppy loses confidence in you.

How can I make my puppy stop biting me and help her learn to be protective?
I have a 3 1/2 month old Pit Bull, and she has become a terror. I dont understand why she wont stop biting me? I dont do anything to her to make her mad at me, she in fact is pretty spoiled. when she bites my husband or I we tell her No!, and she doesn’t listen. we know that she knows what the word “no” means, but she is consistent in her attempts to bite us, and at this point I’m wondering if it is a teething phase she is going through or what?… but in that same aspect, she never barks at other people or other dogs for that matter, but will only bark at us in our own home, and only when we are playing with her. I also wanted to know if someone can give me a quick 101 training on how to train her to be more obediant, as well as protective? whatever you guys can suggest will really help, I love my puppy to much, and I want to make sure that i take care of her properly. She’s 3 months old! She’s still a baby! She’s not biting you, she’s teething, and checking out her environment and how she can interact with it.
You have months to go before she stops teething, it can take up until she is 7 months old for all her puppy teeth to fall out, and that’s only if you handle it correctly. Show her how you want her to play with you. When she goes to chew on your fingers or whatever, remove “whatever” from her mouth, and replace with an appropriate chewtoy. Show her what you expect, praise her when she gets it right. Keep all shoes and other valuables out of reach until she outgrows this phase.
And I’m sorry, you don’t need to “teach” her to be protective, and it’s really not a good idea. It’s better to have a friendly trust-worthy dog, than a lawsuit and the neighbor’s kid tore up by accident.
