where can i get a professional dog trainer in the medford/somerville/cambridge ma area?
i really need a professional. i’ve had my dog for about two weeks and i really need help training him i barely know what i’m doing. where can i find one?
Look on APDT.com (it’s the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and they only list positive reinforcement trainers, but make sure they are certified when you use their online search).
Also look at clickertraining.com to see if there is anyone in your area.
For the time being get a few books on clicker training and read up and then begin. It is wonderful that you are planning on training your dog…training increases confidence, the bond between trainer and dog and increases manners in general, among other positive things. Clicker training is all positive and dogs usually take to it very quickly and love training sessions when they are being clicker trained. Try it!
