Dog Training Pinch Collars
have you ever used a pinch collar for dog training? rat dog owners need not apply?

I have started using pinch collar for my already well behaved german shep, just wondered how many of us were out there. it is not cruel for advanced training techniques, i love my dog and he loves me, if he were in pain it would probably be because some rat dog attacked him.

ETA: I’ve used one in the past in conjunction with training under a professional. If used correctly they are quite effective. Actually, most people feel they are more “humane” than a chain collar for training. I’m actually thinking of trying one on my bullmastiff. He’s well behaved, but sometimes I need a bit more control as he is at the point where he almost outweighs me. Be nice to rat dogs…I’ve had a few. They aren’t all bad. 
Actually I have a 17lb Cavalier which should be a fru fru dog…but I let him be a dog. He runs in the mud, chases birds, and plays like a dog. No fuzzy purses and clothes for him!
Funny though that people think they are for out of control poorly behaved dogs. I have all three of my dogs on verbal control. There can be a cat or squirrel running across the yard and as long as I have told them “leave it” they won’t budge until I give the release command. Pinch or prong collars are just another training tool. Are they misused? Of course! Many things are misused. But that doesn’t mean they are all bad….or that all big dogs or dogs wearing a prong are out of control and bad as someone else implied.
